President – Jack Henderson
Jack Henderson is in his 2nd year of Presidency of the Club. He has been a Member for 50years, and has served on 4 previous Committees. He was also a Past Captain in 1988.
Jack is a keen and able golfer playing off a Handicap of 6 and is very popular with the Membership.
Vice Captain – Tony Clark
“Tony is Vice Captain for this very important year for the Club. He has been a Member for nearly 40 years and plays off a handicap of 2.
Tony has previously served on Committee twice. He is a successful businessman inDumfries and a great supporter of the Club and all its activities.”
Lady Captain 2012 Elaine King
A club member since 2000 having served on the Ladies Committee for 5 years as Competition Secretary,Vice Captain and now Lady Captain and a member of the Club Committee serving on the Finance Committee and Centenary Committee.Handicap 12
Treasurer/Secretary – Brian Duguid
“Brian is a retired banker and works part time for us and is ably assisted by Vivien. Brian has a vast knowledge of golf and apart from working for us, he recently retired from the post of non-executive director responsible for finance with the Scottish Golf Union. This is a massive bonus for the club. If you have any queries please feel free to call either Brian or Vivien and I am sure your questions will be answered to your satisfaction.”
Match Secretary – Ian Fraser
“Ian is a recently retired Police Officer and works part-time as Match Secretary of the Club. Avery keen golfer playing off a handicap of (3)
This is Ian’s second season as our Match Secretary and is here to answer any queries that youmay have regarding our Club and Open Competitions and any issues regarding handicapping.
Just contact him by telephone or by email and he will be more than happy to deal with yourenquiries.”
Club Steward – Graham Sharp
“Graham is our Club Steward and runs a very tight ship. He is a past Club Champion havingwon the Championship 3 times in the last 4 years and plays off a handicap of (Scratch)”
Caterer – Karen Sharp
“Karen works very long hours in her kitchen in an effort to provide total satisfaction to all. Karen has lovely menus whether it be for a snack or a full meal (see the clubhouse page). I can recommend her filled rolls with coffee or tea on arrival so why not make a booking with her prior to arrival. Again Karen has a very pleasant and helpful dedicated staff to assist you in any way.”
Head Greenkeeper – Steven Knaggs
“Steven heads up the greenkeeping team and a fine job he does of it too. He has a young talented squad (total of five including himself) and it is they who make this course what it is and they who work tirelessly to provide the excellence that we are looking for. If you were to meet them on the course these lads would willingly stop and speak to you and answer any questions you may have.”
Club Professional – Stuart Syme
“Stuart is our club professional with two regular assistants plus additional support in the summer months. He has a very well stocked shop (see his input elsewhere on this site) Stuart is responsible for all visitor bookings and you will most certainly come into contact with him or one of his assistants when you visit us.”
